Sail Chicago Fleet The Sail Chicago fleet began with the purchase of a brand new Rhodes 19 design in the late 1950's. Today Sail Chicago owns and operates a fleet of 13 sailboats comprised of 4 very different models. Our fleet is comprised of ten 19 foot Rhodes, a 30 foot Shields, a 26 foot Grampian and a 30 foot Alberg. We are a nonprofit, community-based sailing program that allows our members to cooperatively use and maintain a fleet of sailboats without the severe financial burden typical of individual ownership. The Sail Chicago program is designed to provide a reasonable cost alternative (or enhancement) to boat ownership on Lake Michigan. |
