Compass

DEFINITION
The compass is your basic navigational tool; in fog it can be your only set of “eyes” to get you back home.

Annually inspect, check oil level at maximum, with no excess air, verify accuracy, ensure glass is clear- not fogged or scratch to impede ease of reading compass direction.

ALERT/WHY

  • Best not stored outside over the winter when boats are outside.

  • Hardware sets standards and maintains parts list. Richie brand is the current standard because it complies with flushed deck mounted; does not require drilling big holes which weakness deck; not too high so boom its and damages it.
