I. Membership
A. Requirements for Good Standing
1. Payment of the annual Sailing dues. The dues of first year Rhodes students are included in the instruction fees.
2. Completion of the annual service requirements. All new members are exempt of all service requirements during their first summer of membership.
B. Members will abide by the Sailing Regulations, and the rules, procedures and customs of Sail Chicago as published in the annual Member Handbook, the monthly newsletter Between the Sheets or other notices to members.
1. Members shall not engage in harassment or sexual harassment.
2. Definitions:
a. Harassment is defined as the unfair, demeaning, or abusive treatment of a person that has the effect or purpose of: unreasonably interfering with a person's status and/or performance, or; creating an intimidating and/or hostile working, learning, recreational, or social environment.
b. Sexual harassment is defined as the unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.
C. Complaints concerning any aspect of Sail Chicago should be directed to the Sail Chicago Board of Directors.
D. Usage Credits:
1. Operate as a limited waiver of rental fees.
2. Are awarded to members who make an imperative and extra-ordinary volunteer contribution to programs and activities critical to Sail Chicago’s continuing operation.
3. Are determined by the program leaders and/or Board of Directors.
4. May be used for boat usage through the Answering Service and for one-half of racing fees. Credits may not be used for instruction fees.
5. Must be used within the same year they are given and cannot be accrued for use in a following year.
