Basic Cruising 2 - Docking

The course objective is for students to learn to safely maneuver our 34’ cruising boats under auxiliary power in confined quarters. Students will learn to safely check and operate the engine and related equipment. Skills include handling dock lines and fenders; docking (parallel, slip, & mooring); controlling speed, momentum and steerage, stopping, piloting in reverse, turning in tight quarters; use of prop walk/wash.

Prerequisite: Basic Cruising 1, Colgate 26 Skipper Certification
